Application diversity and area of application
There are three main areas. The classifi-
cation of the products is based on the
following main points and features:
Application diversity and area of
application
Is only a single light, a single heating
circuit controlled in one room, or are
additional tasks to be performed and
other influences?
Configuration or programming
Pure configurations or flexible program-
ming throughout the entire service life?
Communication capability
S-Bus and other communications
protocols such as DALI, EnOcean,…
or web functionalities are supported.
Configurable room controllers with S-Bus or L
on
are required to implement an HVAC
application.
The main applications that can be implemented with these SBC components are
heating and/or cooling, fan coil or variable flow regulation with air quality control.
Configurable or programmable room controllers are required to implement an HVAC,
light and/or shade application. Configurable room controllers (PCD7.L6) are recom-
mended for standard applications. Programmable E-Line modules are preferable where
applications require greater flexibility. These components enable cross-plant room au-
tomation with control in accordance with need and communication with the primary
system. The highest energy efficiency class in accordance with DIN EN 15232 can there-
fore be achieved.
The greatest communication diversity, Web-/+IT-functionalities and total flexibility are
required for the programming. An example would be a Saia PCD1 with DALI interface,
EnOcean connection, BACnet and web operation.
