Analyzer
For analyzing Ether-S-Bus communication or Ethernet communication in general, we recommend using the free software Wireshark (www.wireshark.org).
This is an open source analyzer (including matching log file creator WinPcap). The Wireshark analyzer is able to dissect Ether-S-Bus from version 1.1 on. For more information please refer to the according FAQ #100569.
Good to know
In June 2006 the new IP communication module SBC PCD7.F655 has been released. This module is equipped with a new IP stack that, among other improvements, increases communication performance.
The hardware of this new module is identical to the hardware of the PCD7.F650. It is therefore possible upgrading a PCD7.F650 to a PCD7.F655.
The functionality of the new PCD7.F655 is (nearly) identical to the functionality of the PCD7.F650. The only difference is the support of Classless Interdomain Routing (CIDR) supported by the PCD7.F655.
The firmware update procedure has been changed. Please read the description for upgrading/updating the firmware carefully! Downloading a wrong file to the Saia PCD7.F650 may cause it not to work any more! In this case it must be sent to Murten in order to load a correct firmware.
