What are the differences between the firmware versions of the VGA MB Panels?

This FAQ lists the main changes which have been implemented in the firmware 1.22.09, 1.20.36, 1.18.28, 1.12.17, 1.12.11, 1.12.01 and 1.01.04.
Firmware version 1.22.09 (September 2013)
New features
- Support for connection to a password protected web server (for the security upgrade)
- Support for Web Server password (for the security upgrade)
- Support for Binary Trend
- Setup: Support for SNTP timer server and time zones
- Setup: Configuration of FTP
- Setup: Status information of configured web connections
- Setup: Scanning of the local network for PCD's
- Support for new SBC File System format as used in the PCD FW 1.20.xx. With improved
speed and increased number of files. Date and time stamps are now supported. - Automatic centering for web projects, which are smaller than the physical screen dimensions.
- Size of the orange message box in the upper left corner is adjustable.
Main corrections
- FTP user root is disabled by default
- Setup: Fixed crash when changing language
- Fixed freeze of uBrowser in low memory situation when using DDL, FileViewer or Alarming
- Default value of focus border width is now 0
- Bug fix in Alarm macro, if the macro is not height enough to display at least one line
- Bug fix in parsing double or int values, remove leading spaces in PPO values for comparison
- Adjust array of points in polygon and line painters, with the scale factor
- S-Service is now supported on all panels
- If the maximum amount of objects in a .teq is reached a message is written into the log
- LCD is now turned off, if back light is turned off in order to prevent (reversible) ghost images

(April 2013)
New features

Corrections
- SIP was disabled after a reset all parameter.
- Default value of focus border width is now 0.
- Occasional wrong resolve of written PPO's, which contained container offsets.
- Null byte in ppo value returned by Saia PCD®xx7 series for S7-String.
- HD-Log trend with two log files, using prefix like "L01" and "L01_TR"
- Enable MB_UpdateAfterCoWrite only on user action, do not stress PLC with EventP (HD-Log).
- Alarm macro, if the macro is not height enough to display at least one line.
- Parsing double or int values, remove leading spaces in PPO values for comparison
- Adjust array of points in polygon and line painters, with the scale factor.
- S-Service is now supported on all panels.
- If the maximum amount of objects in a .teq is reached a message is written into the log.

- The amount of memory, which can be allocated to the uBrowser has now been fixed to a save size.
- Fixed flicker on 10” CCFL MB-Panels.
- Fixed missing focus ring.
- Fixed bug, which returned a old time value the first time when using cgi-bin requests.
- Default value of focus border width is now 0.
- Screen was shifted by 1 pixel when rotated.
- Webserver stops working if a MB-Panel accesses the web server for a long time.
- Video cache is now doubled.
- Fixed bug, which prevented the video cache to be flushed if full.
- New Alpha/keypad.
- ASN String is now nicely formatted.
- Alpha/Keypad offset and speed fix.
- Line painter in keypad has now correct offset.
Remarks
- The button "Set Date/Time" in the Online trend macro is not supported/working on MB Panels (VGA and SVGA)
- The button "Save to file" in the Alarming2 macro is not supported/working on MB Panels
Firmware version 1.18.28 (April 2012)
New features
- Added the connection list (for connecting several servers over S-Bus)
- Support for Alarming 2
- Support for DHCP and DNS
- Online trend with correct time indicated
- The MB panel can be rebooted using a container or a cgi-call, see FAQ 101687
Corrections
- Improved touchscreen sensibility (mainly for 10", see FAQ 101546)
- Improved the internal memory management for HDLog trends
- No OnGain/LostFocus events if entering/leaving to a dialog view like keypad, alphapad, msgbox in order to be compatible with the applet (the OnGain/LostFocus is now identical on a PC and on the MB Panel)
- Only one alarm shown if PPO alarm text is to long (approx. 30 chars)
- "File not found" if file cache is disabled and after a lot of teq jumps
- Setup: String is not properly modified, if it was previously cancelled
- non ASCII PS2 characters are not shown correctly
- Disabling automatic DNS server has no immediate effect
- Font replacement works again (added courrier10)
Remarks
- The button "Set Date/Time" in the Online trend macro is not supported/working on MB Panels (VGA and SVGA)
- The button "Save to file" in the Alarming2 macro is not supported/working on MB Panels

Corrections
- Improved touchscreen sensibility (FAQ 101546) (first steps)
- PCD texts with umlauts used in the alarming macros were not displayed correctly (FAQ 101433)
Firmware version 1.12.11 (March 2010)
Corrections
- Backlight container is again compatible with version 1.01.04 (FAQ 101322)
- Alphateq and keypad is correct after startup (FAQ 101323)
- Alarming macro can now be used over S-Bus and http direct on any ports (FAQ 101320)

Corrections
- From time to time on VGA MB Panels with firmware version 1.01.04 a change of colour (usually grey areas became pink) has been observed
- After an URL jump the file cache has not been reset properly
- Space characters in PPOs are no longer shown as "%20"
- After changing the IP address of the panel no reboot is required to work with the FTP server
- Adjusted contrast settings to prevent a black screen
- Improved touch detection in order to prevent "Ghost clicks"
- ANSI characters are shown correctly in a multiline text
