PCD1 / E-Line Why the RS-485 S-Bus communication [...] the some of the S-Bus telegrams transferred from the PCD S-Bus master to the S-Bus slaves over RS485 are malformed, and the S-Bus slave does reject the request from the master. This could lead to the situation that for example the PCD S-Bus master don’t receive actual values from E-Line RIO’s or that the program download of a PCD program from the PC to a Slave PCD which is located behind a

When values are read from a PCD7.L1xx or a PCD7.L3xx module, the preparation of the S-Bus response telegram needs about 10 ms. This time is longer than the same task does take on a PCDx.Mxxx CPU. The time used for writing a value to a PCD7.Lxxx module is about equal to the time that is used by a PCDx.Mxxx CPU (because only an acknowledgement needs to be replied).
Since the Profi-S-Bus protocol is multi-master capable, the question about the amount of possible masters/slaves per station comes up.
The PCD1.Room is able to handle up to 10 S-Bus and 10 Modbus slaves.
The first generation of PCDs with integrated S-Web server did not support http-direct (e.g. the PCD1.M125, PCD1.M135, PCD2.M150, PCD2.M170, PCD2.M480) . Therefore the access of the S-Web Server must be realized using the free software "S-WebConnect" which is to be installed on a PC (accessing the PCD using e.g. Ether-S-Bus). Alternatively, an MB Panel can also access the S-Web Server (e.g. using Ether-S-Bus). However, it is important to know that only one S-Bus client can access the S-Web Server over Ether-S-Bus at the same time!
On the PG5 device configuratior it’s possible to activate/deactivate the RS485/RS422 Bus termination of the port 3 (D-Sub #2 connector; RS485/RS422) of the PCD3.M5340.
