Does the printed serial number on the energy meter match the one read through the communication interface?
FAQ #101835
The serial number of the S-Bus, M-Bus or Modbus one-phase and three-phase energy meter is printed on the front of the energy meter and it's also possible to read out the serial number over the communication interface.
Until June 2013 the two serial numbers were different one from the other, but each one was unique.
Energy meters produced since June 2013 does have the same serial number on the front of the energy meter and read out over the communication interface. This applies to one-phase and three-phase energy meters with S-Bus, M-Bus or Modbus communication. Note also that the format of the serial number has changed for the S-Bus and Modbus (is now ASCII) and due of this it's necessary to use an aditional register to store the serial number.
This change has been implemented in all energy meter with production date 1322 or later.
The new used register was not used on the energy meters with production date < 1322.
