What is the signification of the history entry "ESIO CFG FAIL nn"?

In case of a configuration problem with an Smart Ethernet RIO (PCD3.T665 or PCD3.T666) an according error message is displayed in the PCD history and the PCD stays in HALT. This FAQ lists the signification of the number after the "ESIO CFG FAIL" message.

Remark
Please note that the first PCD firmware which provides this information is the version 1.16.69; previous firmware versions did not correctly indicate the "nn" number but only 0 or 1.
