How are the DALI devices configured?

A broadcast to the DALI Bus does reach all lights/devices on the bus. But how is it possible to create groups and how can individual devices be addressed?
Problem
If the FBoxes are sending broadcast messages, all lights on the bus will be switched on or off at the same time. But usually it is more convenient to address single lights or even better groups of devices.
Solution
DALI offers the possibility to have light-groups and to address each light individually. In order to configure the addresses of each light and to build groups, a configuration tool from the light manufacturer is required.
