Clarifications regarding PCD6.M3 with Ethernet
FAQ #100510
Important note: Since the PCD6 is phased out, it is not possible anymore to send the PCD6.M300 back for modification/upgrade.
The PCD6.M3 is the only PCD6 CPU that can have an Ethernet port. One Ethernet port per PCD6 system is supported, this means that only one CPU in a PCD6 system can have an Ethernet port. There is a configured version with Ethernet that is called PCD6.M300F651, it occupies one slot as the standard version. How to procede to get a CPU with Ethernet Port:
For new applications:
Don't use a PCD6 system as this system has been discontinued.
In existing applications with PCD6.M1/M2:
If the system needs to be extended with an Ethernet port, apply a gateway (e.g. PCD3) that can convert the S-Bus telegrams from Ethernet to serial-S-Bus.
In existing applications with PCD6.M300:
If the system needs to be extended with an Ethernet port, apply a gateway (e.g. PCD3) that can convert the S-Bus telegrams from Ethernet to serial-S-Bus.
