BACnet Interface Adapter Restore Utility

Purpose:

This utility ensures that after a station restart, the originally chosen BACnet Interface is used.
This may be required in some cases, where during station startup the IP Interface used for BACnet is not available. This may occur with USB-connected IP interfaces on PC platforms.
In these cases, another available interface or no interface may be used for that station, which is not the intention.

Mode of operation:

This utility stores the originally engineered IP interface and restores it when the station starts.
It automatically stores the used IP interface whenever the user changes the selection and if it is working properly.
If unsuccessful, a timer retries to restore the saved adapter for a configurable time period after station start (default 5 minutes).

Usage:

From the honUtilityBacRestore palette, take the BacAdapterRestore component and drag it onto the Network inside the Bacnet driver as shown above.
If currently a BACnet interface is operational, this is stored in the utilitys property.
No further user activity is required. When the station restarts, the utility will use this stored entry to restore the configured BACnet interface if required.

Manual use:

If required, the 2 actions save Adapter and restore Adapter can be used. Normally, no explicit user action is required.
