Why does the PCD2.M5540 show the history error message 'FABINFO CRC FAIL' or the entry 'Fab. Date (year/week): 2000/00; BAD PROD INFO CHECKSUM' in the diagnostic file and in the hardware info of the PG5 Online configurator?

Error description:

This wrong production date leads to an error message being entered in the PCD history and also in the hardware info of the PG5 Online configurator the warning is displayed.

However, the PCD2.M5540 works perfectly.

I.e. the functionality of the PCD2.M5540 and the user program which is processed on the PCD2.M5540 are in no way affected by this warning.

Solution:

To fix the issue, load the attached program on the affected PCD2.M5540 and set PCD2.M5540 in Run mode.

The program will set the manufacturing date to the year 2020, calendar week 60 and store the information retentively in the uEprom of the PCD2.M5540.

Calendar week 60 was used to recognize that the fabrication date was modified using this PG5 program.

After switching an off and on of the 24VDC the warning
'Fab. Date (year/week): 2000/00; BAD PROD INFO CHECKSUM'
is no longer displayed and the fabrication date year 2020, calendar week 60 is displayed.

 

The program only needs to be run 1 time on the PCD2.M5540.

It is not necessary to integrate the program into your application program.

Then load your application program into the PCD.
