Which devices can I connect using the JCI N2-Bus FBox library?

FAQ #101394

The main application of this FBox is replacing a DX system by a PCD without the need to replace all the XT extensions, too. Therefore the FBox library for the Johnson Controls JCI N2-Bus is designed to connect XT 9100 extension modules (where the PCD is the master and the XT9100 is the slave).

General
The main application of this FBox is replacing a DX system by a PCD without the need to replace all the XT extensions. The FBoxes do support the N2 bus but not the N2 Open protocol.

Master functionality of the FBoxes
The FBox library for the JCI N2-Bus is mainly designed to connect XT 9100 extension modules (where the PCD is the master and the XT9100 is the slave).
Additionally it is possible to read out single items (but not data structures such as e.g. schedulers) from other devices (such as DX) as well, given this device has the connected port initialized as slave (the PCD is the master).

Slave functionality
The slave functionality has been implemented to provide a possibility to exchange data on the N2-Bus between PCDs, but it is not possible to connect a PCD to a SCADA system from JCI or to a JCI NAE or NCM controller (because this SCADA or NAE is first of all reading a Johnson ID together with a specific set of parameters, which the PCD does not provide; if the ID and the specific set of parameters is not received by the SCADA or NAE, no furhter communication will be executed by the JCI SCADA or the NAE).
