Poll SMS is not working on the GSM modem PCS1.T830 and Q.G736-AS2

Problem
The GSM modem is working well except of the "Poll-SMS" function. It is not possible to recive SMS.

Reason

Due to a problem on the modem modul SMS are stored on the modem itself instead on the SIM-card. PG5 can only read the SIM card and therefore the SMS cannot be read.

Solution

It is possible to reconfigure the modem Q.G736 using the hyperterminal program for example. Connect the modem to a serial port on the PC and use hyperterminal to enter the following commands:

Strings to enter in the hyperterminal are printed bold, expected responses are printed normal.

Afterwards SMS are stored on the SIM card and the "Poll-SMS" function will work.

Note: Modems Q.G736-A2 and PCS1.T830 that are delivered from 2007 are updated and don't have this problem anymore.
