Why does the message PCD memory write error appears when trying to download a program?

FAQ #100553

Often the memory definition is not correct.

Problem
The error message PCD memory write error appears when trying to download

Reason
The definition of the memory is propably not correct.
If a PCD3.M3xxx with Hardware version D is used a firmware problem (V023) is probably causing this error.

Solution
In most cases the problem can be solved by:
- Downloading the "Hardware Settings" with checking "Memory allocation..." (unchecked by default) and "S-Bus..."
- Adjust the "Software Settings" by pushing the "Set default" button
- If a PCD3.M3xxx with Hardware Version D and FW 023 is in use, a firmware update is probably necessary.
