May I use another memory type than RAM for extension on PCD with LON application?

FAQ #100371

Yes, this is possible. But since after the binding of a LON-structure and restarting the PCD some data are written into a DBX you have to use a RAM as extension for this procedure first!

After the binding is completed you have to backup the DBX from RAM with the binding information. For this use function "Upload DBX..." in menu "Online" of  "SBC Network Configurator" (It's the tool which edits a "LON Network File") and build the project again. Now you can replace the RAM through an EPROM or Flash-EPROM and download the whole project again.

Of course if you have to change the binding information for some reason you have to do this again with a RAM.
