What connector and cable typ should be used?
FAQ #100369
On Profibus Network it is important to use the right cable and connector as the communication speed goes up to 12 Mbautes!
Those cable and connectors are used in Profibus DP, FMS, Profis S-Bus, Profi S-IO and MPI!
Wiring and Network termination should be as follows:
1 |
Shield |
3 |
RxD/TxD-P |
4 |
CNTR-P |
5 |
DP GND |
6 |
DP +5V |
8 |
RxD/TxD-N |
9 |

Note:
If the bautrates isn't greater than 187,5 bautes (for ex. Profi S-Bus with PCD3.M3xx / PCD7.D7xx) you can use other more advantegeous cable, especially if the network segment is shorter than 600 meters!
