Standby Mode of W2k and Windows XP doesn't work any more after installation of PG5
FAQ #100118
After the installation of PG5 the "Standby mode" and/or "Hypernite Mode" isn't available any more on the PC/Laptop.
This problem is caused by the DriverX that was installed together with the PG5. The DriverX is used for IPC's (PC104) and isn't used on Workstations and laptops. Its purpose is the communication between an IPC and a PCD2.M2x0 over it's dual port RAM. Unfortunately this driver isn't compatible with the power management of Microsoft Windows systems makes the standby option disappearing.
The DriverX isn't installed automatically installed with PG5 1.3.
How to get the Stanby Mode back:
Since the DriverX isn't used on normal workstations and laptops it can be uninstalled or disabled in order to gain back the Standby/Hypernate mode. Therefore please follow the steps below:
- | Open "System Properties" from the "Control Panel" of your Windows OS |
- | Select the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device manager" button. |
- | Check the option "View hidden devices" from the "device manager" menu "View" |
- | Now a new device group (Non-Plug and play drivers) is listed; select the "DriverX" and either uninstall or disable it. |
- | Reboot your machine. |
In case the standby mode still isn't available it is very likey that another driver (non SBC related) is causing this problem. For further information we recommend referring to the Microsoft Support:
