Recommended length of the USB cable

The limiting factor for USB connections is the length of the cable. We recommend to use standard cables with a maximum length of 3 meters to ensure proper operation. There are longer cables on the market, but they can cause communication problems. You can as well buy active cables that extend existing USB cables and act like a hub. One of them with a length of 5 meters has been tested successfully, so this kind of active cable is worth a try if 3 meters are not enough.
